VINCENT VAN GOGH
Vincent van Gogh was a Dutch post-impressionist painter, born on March 30, 1853, and died on July 29, 1890. He is among the most famous and influential figures in the history of Western art. Van Gogh created about 2,100 artworks, including around 860 oil paintings, most of them in the last two years of his life. His works are characterized by bold, dramatic brush strokes and vibrant colors, often depicting landscapes, still lifes, portraits, and self-portraits.
Despite his prolific output, Van Gogh struggled with mental illness and poverty, and his work was not widely appreciated during his lifetime. He is famously known for cutting off part of his own ear during a bout of mental illness. Van Gogh's work became much more famous after his death, and he is now considered one of the greatest artists in history. Some of his most famous paintings include "Starry Night," "Sunflowers," "Irises," and "The Bedroom."

FRIDA KAHLO
Frida Kahlo was a Mexican painter known for her deeply personal and symbolic self-portraits, as well as her exploration of identity, postcolonialism, gender, class, and race in Mexican society. She was born on July 6, 1907, in Coyoacán, Mexico City, and died on July 13, 1954.
Kahlo's work is characterized by its vibrant colors, dramatic symbolism, and surreal elements, often incorporating themes from Mexican popular culture. Her paintings frequently depict her own suffering and pain, stemming from a severe bus accident she survived as a teenager, which resulted in multiple surgeries and lifelong health problems. Her turbulent marriage to the famous Mexican muralist Diego Rivera also influenced much of her work.
Despite her relatively small output (about 200 paintings), Kahlo's art has had a significant impact and has been celebrated internationally. She is considered an icon of feminism, LGBTQ+ rights, and Chicano culture. Some of her most famous works include "The Two Fridas," "Self-Portrait with Thorn Necklace and Hummingbird," and "The Broken Column."
